I chose the dominant photo by finding a photo where nobody is cut off. I also chose it as I felt like it was the best action shot of the event. I chose the photo of Mr. Trevino as it fit the vertical photo box well. Lastly, I included the photo with the cheerleaders as I felt like that was an important aspect of the event.

These photos document an event that took place. It was about the swim meet that took place in SFS during the weekend. The subjects in the photos varies, but it is mostly the people that participated in this event. In the photos, usually it captures the liveliness of the event, with everybody either swimming or cheering, which makes the viewer feel excited and happy. The photos take place in SFS, as shown by the background and the signs. It happened during the morning at around winter, as shown by the lighting and the clothes people were wearing. I wanted to document this story as I had a great time at SFS, and I would like to always remember that day. I am the major character in this photo. I am doing VR of how Madison Square Garden was built and renovated over time and the headphones and VR headset helps tell this story. This photo was taken over the summer when I went to New York. My age has an impact on this photo, as I may look younger. Also, over time, Madison Square Garden may change. In addition, the location is the most important part of this photo as it shows me and Madison Square Garden, and you can see in the background how they are currently renovating the arena. I am documenting this as I always remember visiting The Garden when I was younger, watching the New York Knicks. This photo also shows me interacting with my environment and the VR headset. It makes the reader interested, wondering what I am watching.
In this assignment, I was asked to capture an event or situation from at least 3 different perspectives- a wide angle, medium angle, and close-up. It is important to do this as perspectives can change a image completely, adding extra detail into the image, or just show the focal point in a more interesting way. I decided to take a picture of my homeroom, to capture the liveliness of everybody here, in different perspectives. I approached the challenge in a positive way as it was pretty straightforward and fun to do. Wide Angle Medium Angle Close-Up
Wide Angle Shot- This photo is impactful to me as it manages to capture the whole scene of the Superbowl, and got a very good shot of the Patriots celebrating, and makes the viewer seem like they are experiencing it in person. (Jim Davis) Medium Shot- This photo is impactful to me as it again manages to capture the vibe of the event, and manages to make the focal point clear, or the Patriots celebrating, with the people in the background not being distracting, but adding style to the picture. (Barry Chin) Close-Up Shot- This photo is impactful to me as it shows a good example of a close-up, showing the detail of the Patriot's fan's hat and his face paint. (Barry Chin)
In this picture, I was asked to take a portrait of somebody where they were framed by a natural or man-made object. I chose to take a picture of David framed by a window on a door. I like how the focal point is clear through the frame. I dislike how there is some reflection showing on the window, and this made it very challenging to get a good photo. I can improve next time by trying out different angles before taking a picture. In this picture, I was asked to take a picture of someone candidly, when they were framed in a natural or man-made object. I chose to take a picture of David walking by, framed by door frame in the classroom I like how the focal point was clear. However, I dislike how the focal point, or David is kind of shaky and blurry. This was the challenging part, as he was moving, so it was hard to take a clear picture of him. Next time, I can improve by taking multiple pictures to get a picture when it isn't blurry. Or, I can change my shutter speed.
